Stone following external shock - 2/5/2006

The new Professor and Chairman at U.C. Irvine has said that ESWL may be causing recurrent calcium phosphate stone formation through injury of the ducts of Bellini. Urology news reports that extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy is being replaced by the more discreet shock delivered by ureteroscopy and electrohydraulic lithotripsy.
